Are there any considerations regarding building regulations?

Atelier Studios have been designed to conform to all relevant Building Regulations.

Do I need planning permission?

Ordinarily the Atelier studio will not require planning permission provided the structure is situated no closer than 2 metres from the boundary of your property and the structure is not forward of a wall forming it’s principal elevation.   Exceptions to this can arise if the structure would cover more than half of the land around the original house, if your property is situated within a conservation area or is listed. Should planning permission be required Atelier can undertake the application on your behalf if you so wish.

Do we have to have the Oak Flooring?

Atelier 3 strip Engineered Oak lacquered flooring is offered as standard. You can choose and install an alternative flooring if you so desire though this would need to be approved by our technical team.

Does the cost include the base?

Yes it is included in the price; however you must provide a flat firm surface.

How are the services connected?

The required electric supply should be completed by others prior to the installation of the Atelier studio. Detailed drawings will be provided upon receipt of order.

How long will I have to wait for my studio?

Approximately 12 weeks from date of order.

I do need the extra space, but I don’t know whether to just have an extension?

Having a structure built detached from the main building gives you far less disruptions than a house extension, and is less costly and time consuming. The cost you pay for your structure will be the final cost, there won’t be any additional costs from contractors once you’re project is complete. Also if the purpose of the studio is mainly for work, you won’t have the distraction of being connected to your home.

Is the building secure?

Our standard range of doors conform to PAS 23 and PAS 24 standards, which certifies the doors, frame locks and hardware set has withstood a series of physical tests. With enhanced security performance properties, environmental performance standards and has weather protection elements.

Is the studio guaranteed?

Your new Atelier studio comes with a 5 year guarantee which will be issued to you soon after installation and completion of your new studio.

What can I use the building for?

The possibilities are endless. The interior panel system has completely hidden fixings and concealed services making it feel like just like any room in your house. The studio is thermally insulated, sound proofed and watertight making it a room to suit all occasions in all weathers.

Who will deliver and install the studio?

Delivery of the materials to site will be undertaken by Atelier and will coincide with the commencement of the installation. This will minimise the risk of damage and ensure that from your point of view the process is as seamless as possible. The installation will take from 3 days.

Will I have to maintain the exterior?

Not essential due to the natural preparation of the Timber but you may if you so chose to limit the weathering effect.
