SIP panels

Structurally Insulated Panels (SIP), otherwise known as “sandwich panels”, are a highly efficient modern method of construction. The panels consist of a polyurethane foam core sandwiched between two layers of OSB (oriented strand board). The result is a very strong, lightweight, highly efficient building component that when used in a SIP building will create a airtight and weatherproof seal. They are ideal for our structures.

I joists
We also use panels made up of timber I joists with a plywood skin. The I joists are superior to standard structural timbers as they are lighter in weight and are more efficient in their use of material. They also offer a better dimensional stability ensuring that our floors do not squeak or distort over time.

Kerto Q

Kerto Q from finnforest is used for the perimeter frame of our structures. It is a laminated veneer lumber (LVL) product used in many different types of construction jobs. It is produced from 3mm thick softwood veneers which are glued together to form a continuous billet of immense strength.

It is ideal for our application because of its immense strength characteristics (it often performs better than glulam) and its dimensional stability (it will not warp or twist).

Foundations

Foundations are included in the overall cost and we undertake their installation ourselves, ensuring there will be no delays caused by using different contractors.

Aluminium supports

The cantilevered roof bears down on very slim aluminium powder coated supports. These are precision manufactured in our factory using state of the art metal fabrication equipment and then powder coated to your specification.
